Spirit Week 9/14

This week is our spirit week and to celebrate students are asked to participate in the following dress-up days: Tuesday - Western Day, Wed. - Wild & Wacky Twin Day, Thursday - Show Your Spirit for LMS and Friday - Black & Gold Day!!! All attire must be school appropriate.

We will be having a pep rally Thursday, 9/16, during last hour where we will be introducing the football and volleyball players and the cheerleaders. We will also be attending the pep rally Friday afternoon at the high school for Homecoming and going to the parade on Friday, 9/17.

Now for the disclaimer:  Anyone who is ZAPPED on Thursday will not attend our pep rally, and anyone ZAPPED on Friday will not attend the high school activities.  STUDENTS NEED TO MAKE SURE THEY HAVE ALL ZAP WORK TURNED IN SO THEY CAN ATTEND THESE ACTIVITIES!!!!!

News and Events August 31, 2010

We have two new staff members this year at LMS. Andrew Palmer is a second year teacher who we hired to teach our seventh and eighth grade reading. Kami Hartzell is also a second year teacher who will be teaching sixth grade for us, mostly sixth grade Science. Both are bringing a lot of energy and new ideas to our district.

We also have about ten new students so far this year. This puts the number of kids in our building at 195 which is ten more than we have had since we moved up here. Our two lunch shifts are really full this year for the first time. (More kids = more noise. J)

We have begun using the School Wide Positive Behavior Support System that the elementary has been using for a couple of years hoping to improve the classroom behavior of our students. While the elementary focuses on Respect, Responsibility, and Safety, we chose to focus ours on Academics, Attitude, and Actions. We have been teaching, correcting and rewarding and I think the students have really responded.

The end of the first progress period is this Friday and reports will go home with the kids next Wednesday. Please look for that report and call us if you have any questions.
