First Quarter Improvements

Here are some data comparisons between this year’s and last year’s first nine weeks:
1. Our attendance is up from last year, 96.17 to 96.59%.

2. The number of detentions assigned is down 23%.

3. Our overall G.P.A. went up from 3.171 to 3.23.

4. The percent of our total grades that are A’s or B’s went up from 82.1% to 85.6% and our total percent of D’s or F’s were down from 5% to 4.9%.

5. 37% of our kids qualified for a Gold Card – highest number ever.

Maybe the most important thing is that our teachers report that they think they are covering more information in their classes.  We don't really have any data to back that up, but it's good to know.

P-T Conferences Successful

We had a record turn out for Parent-Teacher Conferences this year.  75% of parents came out Monday the 25th to pick-up their child’s grade card and talk with his/her teachers.  Our average over the last several years has been about 65%, and never over 70%.

Dance Moved to October 29

Our next dance has been moved to Friday, October 29th.  The time is also different.  It will be from 7:00 - 9:30.  It is a costume dance but all costumes must still follow our school dress code, no masks or weapons are allowed.  As it is with all of our dances, this dance is for eligible Lathrop Middle School students only.  The first term grades and citizenship are used to determine eligibility for this dance.  The eligibility list is posted at various places throughout the building.
