Weekly News 10/19

This week is Red Ribbon Week. Our teams will be decorating classroom doors on Monday during seminar. Tuesday we are going to the high school for a drug-free assembly from 8:30- 9:30. There are many other activities going on this week to promote safe and drug free schools.

Thursday the 22nd is an early dismissal for the kids at 11:30 and then Parent-Teacher Conferences will be from 1:00 to 8:00 Thursday evening. All teachers will be in the gymnasium for conferences. We hope everyone can take time out of their busy schedules to come up and visit with us. Don’t forget no school on Friday!

We are having an informational meeting for our middle school Watch DOGS program on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. We will have some pizza and discuss the program for all of the male role models of our students that might be interested in spending a day at LMS ensuring the safety of our kids! Please RSVP to 528-7600 or email me at cfine@lathrop.k12.mo.us.

We had our first big Renaissance Rewards day of the year on Friday. The gold card students went on a field trip to the College Basketball Experience at the Sprint Center. Even though we didn’t dress appropriately for all of the activity, everyone had a great time. The other groups rewards involved activities at our school including movies, free time and, as always…food!

Volleyball season is officially over and footballs last game is Tuesday the 20th at Lawson. The eighth grade boys are going for back to back undefeated seasons and an unofficial conference championship. Basketball practice starts Monday, 10/19 for the girls and all boys on Wednesday, 10/21. Our first basketball games are at North Platte on 11/10.
